We are proud to offer new homes that have earned the ENERGY STAR® label. ENERGY STAR qualified new homes are substantially more energy efficient than homes built to the minimum code requirements. Our ENERGY STAR qualified new homes are independently verified by a third-party Home Energy Rater to ensure they meet ENERGY STAR energy efficiency guidelines. These homes are better for the environment and better for you.

Kimbel Construction is Louisville's Original ENERGY STAR builder. We are proud to say that we have built 20 homes since 1998 that have obtained the ENERGY STAR label. When visiting the ENERGY STAR website we are at the top of the list building 100% ENERGY STAR labeled homes in Kentucky.
HERS (Home Energy Rating System) Scores are scored as the lower the number the better. A zero score would equal a net zero energy home. You will notice on some of the older certificates shown the scores are higher due to the rating system at that time. It used to be where it took a score of 70 to obtain an ENERGY STAR label. Then a score of 85 was a Five-Star-Plus rating (the highest rating available).
